What are equivalent fractions?

When two or more than two fractions have the same value, then they are called the equivalent fractions. Equivalent fractions are the parts of the same whole with different numerator and denominator but represent the same parts of the whole.

For example, 1/2 means half of an object such as half of an apple or half of a pizza. Now 2/4 means half too, but this contain different numerator and denominators.
