Fraction worksheets grade 1
In grade one kids can learn drawing one line of symmetry to divide a symmetrical shape into two parts. They can use fraction worksheets having these shapes.
First of all kids can learn one whole. For this purpose they can look at some objects such as an apple. One whole apple is one, if somebody bit it, then it not “one whole”, any more. This gives the idea of fractions or parts to the kids.
The next step is to use fraction worksheets for grade 1 which contain simple shapes like rectangles, squares, circles and hearts. These shapes can be divided into two sections easily by drawing a line of symmetry in them.
Most kids know about whole numbers, i.e. counting numbers to 100 in Kindergarten or in early grade one. The next step to teach arithmetic to these young kids in grade one is the idea of introduction fractions. Fractions are the numbers too, but parts of whole numbers.
